Youth of the Nation

I *just* heard (and we'll see how true this is) that the youth vote just didn't happen AT ALL this election - that among eligible voters, 18-24, only 10% showed up. 10%. That's pathetic. What happened?

UPDATE: Okay, so the 10% figure is the proportion of youth voters to the general voting public. Apparently the youth vote went up - but so did rest of the voting population, so the proportion remained the same. Here's an article in the San Jose Mercury News about this:
